ASOS Right On Time Chelsea Boots

Remember how I said I can't wear boots because of my cankles? Well that's still true. But I think I've found the exception to the rule. I featured these in my autumn wishlist here and gave in to the urge way quicker than I would like to admit (i.e before the wishlist even went live on my blog, oooppss).
Thankfully they fit really well and after the initial rubbing of the heel they are really comfy. But mostly I love how they look. They have a perfect amount of heel so they are easy to walk in and they don't go too high up the ankle so they aren't unflattering to one's leg shape. I love the slight grungy look to them as well.
I've been wearing them non stop ever since I got them and I would highly recommend them if you're still on the hunt for a reasonably priced autumn/winter boot.
Thanks for stopping by! Lots of love,

My Favourite Plum Lipsticks

In case you hadn't gathered this I love my plum lipsticks. I'm sure plums probably aren't the best colour for my skin tone but whenever I put a berry stain close to my lips I instantly feel better about my face. So today I will be showing you my most worn plum lipsticks!
There are probably more plum lipsticks from the drugstore that I use on a regular basis but these were the first three that popped into my head. As you can see from the non-existent branding on the packaging, the Revlon Balm Stain is a long time love of mine. It's the most sheer but it can be built up. I also love the new Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick in Berry Much and you can read my review of it here. My least worn of the three is Black Cherry but it is gorgeous especially when patted into the lips. It's the most wine coloured of the three but probably looks the least like the colour in the tube.
Having one of those days when you realise you have 3 lipsticks that are all identical to each other. Oops.
Okay, I'm not gonna lie, these three are ridiculously similar. However I only bought one of them myself and the other two were presents so all is forgiven. The YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipstick, kindly given to me by my best friend Emily, is the most moisturising of the three. The packaging is pure luxury and it feels like velvet on the lips. Applied straight from the bullet, it's a little too slippery however if you apply it lightly then pat it into the lips its absolutely gorgeous. It also fades beautifully, leaving a gorgeous pink stain. MAC's Rebel is a bit of a cult classic and I would say MAC's most popular plum lipstick. It's a satin finish so isn't as glossy or shiny as the YSL one but it isn't drying either. This one also leaves a really nice colour behind. The Clinique Chubby Stick is similar to the YSL one because it needs to be applied very lightly to avoid unsightly lipstick on teeth.

Thanks so much for stopping by and sorry for the long, photo heavy post! Lots of love,

Face of the Day ft Naked Basics

L'Oreal Super Liner So Couture

Hi again! I'm on a bit of a roll with this whole blogging thing. I have another face of the day today featuring the Naked Basics Palette. I know the Naked Basics 2 palette has just come out but I snapped this one up in the Feel Unique sale and I've been using it loads ever since. I used the shade Naked 2 all over the lid and then ran the shade Faint really faintly (LOL) nearer to the lash line. I also put Faint along my lower lash line. I did the thinnest line imaginable of liquid liner on my upper lash line and finished it off with tonnes of mascara on my top and bottom lashes.
The rest of the face is very similar to what I wear everyday with the very neutral blusher and bronzer. I then finished everything off with this Soap & Glory lipstick in Pom Pom. It's a hard colour to describe because it's not plum or wine coloured but it also doesn't look pink. Either way it's a gorgeous colour.
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully see you again soon! Lots of love,

Autumn Wishlist

autumn wishlist

Topshop Ladder Stitch Crop Jumper Zara Laser Cut T-Shirt Topshop Long Sleeve Skinny Rib Crop Top New Look Purple Check Slim Leg Trousers Asos Right On Time Chelsea Ankle Boots New Look Black Air Cushion Lace Up Trainers Orelia Large Arrow Necklace Asos Large Face Slim Strap Watch Topshop Eyeduo in Long Weekend Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush

Hi everyone and welcome to another wishlist! I haven't done one in a little while but I've been doing a lot of online shopping recently so naturally I've ended up with a fairly sizable wishlist.
As soon as the weather gets a little bit colder I want every cropped jumper on the market hence why you'll spot 2 in this wishlist. I also love patterned trousers but with really autumnal colours just like these New Look ones. I'm also really loving jewellery at the moment. Dainty necklaces have become an obsession and my everyday watch is currently running 10 minutes slow. Instead of doing the normal thing and putting a new battery in it, I decided it was the perfect time for a new one! Enter Asos' relatively cheap but gorgeous looking watches. I love the way the face of the watch matches the strap on this one
Not through lack of trying, I came to the realisation that I can't wear boots. My unfortunate combination of short legs and cankles means that anything that cuts off above the ankle is very unflattering. However I feel like I might be able to get away with these Asos ones. They have a bit of a heel so will make my legs look a bit longer and they don't go too far above the ankle. It's not fair that the longer legged get to wear winter boots and I don't, okay. I'm feeling fairly satisfied with my makeup collection at the moment (I'm actually slightly overwhelmed by it) and there's only a couple of things I really want. One being this Topshop Eyeduo in Long Weekend because I'm really intrigued by the orange shade and the other being the new brow product from Soap & Glory.

That's all for today! Let me know in the comments what's at the top of you autumn wishlist. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully see you soon :) Lots of love,

Skincare Empties

I finally finished this after what feels like (and probably is) months and months of using it. It breaks down make up effortlessly and is perfect for sensitive skin because there is no stinging or stripping of the skin. I've already repurchased this because I can't really be bothered trying anything else when I know this works for me.

This is definitely the most luxurious purchase I have ever made. I treated myself when I was in London and I'm kind of glad that I don't want to buy it again because that would be an expensive habit. It's not that I didn't like it because I did and I haven't had any skin issues since using it but I also didn't really see any changes in my skin like I hoped.

I know I've talked about this a lot already, namely here and here, and this might be the last time because it's run out! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I'll buy it again obvs but ya know. Shit runs out quick.

Thanks for stopping by and hopefully see you soon! Lots of love,

First Impressions: Maybelline Mono Eyeshadows and L'Oreal Super Liner

L'Oreal Super Liner So Couture

Hi everyone and welcome to today's post. After raiding Boots and Superdrug I realised I had bought enough eye products to create an entire look. So the eye-dea of today's post is that I will give my first impressions of each new product that I put on my eyes.

Maybelline Mono Eyeshadows- These remind me of the L'Oreal L'Ombre Pure eyeshadows in that they are single eyeshadows and have the embossed patterns. (You can read my review of said eyeshadows here). Sadly I don't think they are quite as good as the L'Oreal ones. They don't have that 'wet' look on the eyes and the glitter chunks are a bit too big for my liking. I prefer the shade Copper Fizz to Luminous Beige. Luminous Beige looks amazing in the pan but comes out quite a lot more white and harsh that it initially seems which is a shame. However this being said they still look nice on the eyes and I will use them again.

L'Oreal Super Liner So Couture- I actually got this free because I spent over £9.99 on L'Oreal products so I wasn't really expecting much but I am really impressed after my first use of this. It went on really opaque and the short nib means you can get your fingers really close to the end of the pen and I found I had lots of control of the liner. It also dried quickly and I hope it lasts well too.

L'Oreal Falsh Lash Flutter Mascara- The brush on this mascara is slightly unusual in that it is designed to make your eyelashes more fluttery at the outer corners. I didn't really notice that it did that however it didn't take long to make my eyelashes really black and quite long considering they are naturally very short.

So that's everything for today, I hope you enjoyed this style of post and if you do I might do another one soon! Let me know in the comments! Lots of love,

Ode to TK Maxx

Bit of an unusual one today. I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I actually work in a Tk Maxx and I am fully aware that it's a bit sad to do a blogpost solely dedicated to the shop you work in. However spending so much time in the shop means I am seeing the gems that come in on an almost daily basis.  My room is full of trinketty homeware bits that you won't find anywhere else (that mint green 'A' that keeps cropping up in pictures? tk! Those fake flowers? tk!) You can also find some amazing makeup and skincare pieces for discounted prices. So today I thought I would share with you some of the hidden treasures I've come across whilst rummaging around the shop floor.
YSL Touche Eclat- RRP: £25.00 TK Maxx: £19.99
My most recent and exciting find! Although you can probably get this on websites for a similar price I wouldn't have gone looking for it and it wouldn't be on my face right now as I type. I was so excited when I saw it and no customer was getting to it before me.

Real Techniques Eye Starter Set- RRP: £21.99 TK Maxx: £14.99
Real Techniques Duo Fibre Brushes RRP: £23.99 TK Maxx: £16.99
I can never say no to an expansion of my brush collection and whilst the store stocks many dupes, nothing beats the real thing especially at a discounted price!

Seche Vite Top Coat RRP: £9.00 TK Maxx: £4.99
That's a more reasonable price for a top coat, am I right? You can also get Essie, Nails Inc, Leighton Denny, O.P.I and Orly nail varnishes at the moment.

However there are things I've missed out on which is the dark under belly of TK Maxx- when it's gone, it's gone. For example, why didn't I buy that Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream for £12.99 when I had the chance? And how I let that black ceramic miniature daschshund (seriously) slip out of my grasp I'll never know. I could go on forever telling you the brands we have (& Other Stories, Burberry, Physician's Formula) but I guess you'll just have to go and look for yourself!

That's pretty much it for today! Thanks for stopping by and hopefully see you again soon! Let me know what gems you've found in your local TK Maxx in the comments :)

Face of the Day #5

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Topaz
MAC Eyeshadow in Saddle
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
Soap & Glory Super Colour Fabulistick Collagen Boosting Lipstick in Naked Beige

Hello everyone and welcome to my face of the day #5. The main reason I did this fotd was to show off my new favourite eyeliner from Revlon and a lip combo I am loving at the moment.
The eyeliner is a really lovely shimmery light bronze colour which I just draw round my entire eye then smudge out with the smudger on the opposite end. Then I went over my whole eyelid with Saddle by Mac which is a very warm matte orangey brown shade. However I don't think it's available in the UK which I didn't realise until searching for it.  I then curled my eyelashes and liberally applied the mascara.
To get the lip combo I am wearing I first applied the Marvelips As Good As Nude lip pencil as a sort of lip liner/base for the Super Colour Fabulistick Lipstick. I'm really trying to get into nudes right now and I love this combination so much.
Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you soon!
Lots of love,

The Multitasker

Hi everyone! Today is just going to be a really quick post telling you about my favourite brush. It's my favourite because of how versatile it is. It's the perfect size for blending in concealer under the eyes but it's also my secret weapon for blending eyeshadow. I don't know if this happens to anyone else but when I try to blend in eyeshadow with actual eyeshadow brushes it just seems to spread the colour further and further up my lid until it's basically at my eyebrow; never I look I aim for. However with this brush and the remnants of a little concealer it keeps the colour under control and makes sure the eyeshadow blends out really nicely. And obviously you could use it as a setting brush, it's intended purpose, but where's the fun in that. That pretty much everything for today. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully see you soon! Lots of love,

Review: Maybelline Color Drama Lipstick in Berry Much

When I first spotted this new release in Superdrug without having previously heard anything about them I launched my body towards the stand. While other people may be bored of the whole lipstick pen thing I am still very much on that horse. Especially if there is a plum shade in the range. I automatically wanted Berry Much but it was sold out. Then when my birthday rolled around on the 30th (happy birthday me) I was so happy to receive this as a present. Bless my mum for writing it down in her phone when I mentioned how much I wanted it but couldn't find it in stock anywhere.
Anyway, on to the actual product and I am very happy to report that my mother didn't waste £4.99 on me.
The formula of this lipstick is matte but creamy at the same time. By that I mean that there is no shimmer or gloss to be found when applied to the lips however I don't find it to be drying at all. My test for this is by wearing it to work. My lips get a little fugly looking after being subjected to air conditioning and that 'shop air' for hours on end so if a matte lipstick doesn't gather in strange places we have a winner on our hands ladies and gentlemen. When I caught sneaky glimpses of myself in the mirror I was so shocked at how nice it still looked. It had faded so evenly and not just in the middle which I often get (hello drag queen lip liner).
The colour of this lipstick is also really intense. It's instantly opaque and I would recommend using a lip brush or your fingers if you want a more sheer wash of colour. That's the only thing I can complain about with this really. Once it's on there it's pretty hard to correct any mistakes without make up remover and you might as well forget about blotting because nothing will come off. I think the application takes a bit of getting used to because of this. However once you've nailed it it's a great little release from Maybelline and I'm surprised I've not heard more about them.
There are 9 shades in the range which I think is rather impressive and if you're a matte lip lover on a budget I would really recommend giving these a go! Thanks for stopping by, lots of love,

August Favourites

For the first time in my life I found it so easy to think of my favourites this month. There have been some seriously stand out make up and skincare bits and I can't wait to share them with you!
If I were only allowed one favourite for this month it would be this. I haven't done an individual review on this foundation because there are approximately 400 million (I counted) reviews already floating around the internet but I can assure you I absolutely love it. I've been wearing it everyday without fail and everyday I am surprised by how nice it looks hours after initial application. Honestly I can't recommend this foundation enough, for me the price is worth it and I will be purchasing again.

If you read my review on this moisturiser here you will not be surprised to see this in my favourites. I've used it twice daily ever since I got it earlier last month and I'm addicted. Yet another product I will definitely be repurchasing.
Here we come to the second of my New York purchases which are sadly not out in British drugstores yet (hence why the link is to Walgreens) but I really hope they make an appearance soon. I particularly love the shade Improper Copper (left). They can be built up so much and last a really long time. I'll hopefully do a post on these soon so keep your eyes peeled.
I can assure you I bought this in a Superdrug but can I find it on any websites? That'd be a firm no. So I guess it was pretty cheap because I bought it without really thinking but I've ended up loving it. The colour is my absolute ideal bronze shimmery shade (goes perfectly with MAC's Amber Lights). It looks amazing smudged around the top and bottom lashline and it pains me to not use this on my eyes of a morning. I think I'll do a face of the day featuring this soon so make sure to stick around.

And that brings me to the end of another monthly favourites. There are other things I started loving towards the end of the month which I'm sure will feature at the end of September (gaahhh).
Thanks so much for reading and don't forget to leave the links to your monthly favourites so I can find some new loves for next month! Lots of love,
